FIFA Club World Cup Trophy to Arrive in Algeria, Hosted by ES Sétif
Algeria will soon have the honor of hosting the FIFA Club World Cup trophy, with the prestigious silverware set to arrive this Sunday. The initiative, spearheaded by FIFA, aims to showcase the trophy in all seven participating cities ahead of the tournament’s kickoff in Morocco.
ES Sétif, Algeria’s Champions League-winning side, will be the proud host of the trophy, which will be displayed at the El Maâbouda exhibition gallery in the club’s home city. The exhibit provides fans a rare opportunity to see football’s top club prize up close.
Sétif will enter the FIFA Club World Cup 2014 on December 13 in Rabat, where they will face the winner of the playoff between Morocco’s Moghreb Tetouan and New Zealand’s Auckland City. A win in that match would set up a thrilling semifinal showdown against Argentina’s San Lorenzo, the Copa Libertadores champions.
The event marks a major moment in Algerian club football, as ES Sétif becomes the first Algerian side to participate in the FIFA Club World Cup. Excitement is building across the country as the nation prepares to cheer on its representative on the world stage.
