South African football legend Delron Buckley has made a bold statement as Mamelodi Sundowns gears up for the much-anticipated clash against Borussia Dortmund at the FIFA Club World Cup.
The South African giants will take on the eight-time Bundesliga champions in the second Group F encounter at TQL Stadium, Cincinnati on Saturday.
Sundowns goes into the match on the back of a narrow win over South Korean side Ulsan HD last Wednesday, while Borussia Dortmund will try to put their best foot forward after a goalless draw with Brazilian side Fluminense.
In an interview with SABC’s ‘Game On’ program, Buckley pinpointed a vulnerable area in the German side, highlighting defense as their weakest link.
According to him, Sundowns can exploits Dortmund’s weakness to succeed in the much-anticipated clash.
“And I think this will also be an advantage for Sundowns. Sundowns have quality forwards who can break down defenses and create chances. Dortmund’s defenders don’t know how to cope with South African dribbling flair and one-on-one skills,” commented Delron Buckley.
The South African side won their opening match and have three points, while the German club drew and have one point.
