Faouzi Benzarti has been appointed as the new coach of Raja Casablanca, and he will lead the Moroccan team in the upcoming Club World Cup hosted by Morocco. Benzarti, who was previously the coach of US Monastir, explained that he couldn’t refuse an offer from a prestigious club like Raja, especially considering the opportunity to participate in the Club World Cup. He sees it as a significant challenge and noted that he is the first Tunisian coach to sign with a Moroccan club. Despite this move being perceived as an escape in Tunisia, Benzarti emphasized the appeal of the opportunity presented by Raja Casablanca.
The 10th edition of the FIFA Club World Cup took place from December 11 to 21, 2013, making it the first time in history that the tournament was held in Morocco.
