Zone 3 Champion Clubs Volleyball Tournament: Day 2 Highlights
The Zone 3 Champion Clubs Volleyball Tournament, which kicked off this Monday in Lagos, Nigeria, continued on Tuesday with some exciting matches.
Nigeria’s Customs Volleyball Club dominated their Beninese counterparts, securing a 3-1 victory with set scores of 25-23, 25-15, 20-25, and 25-19. Meanwhile, Benin’s second team, Entente, defeated Togo’s AS OTR in straight sets, 3-0, with scores of 25-20, 25-20, and 25-23.
Entente captain Tobby Tohouegnon expressed satisfaction with the result but emphasized that the team still has bigger ambitions. “We’re happy with this victory, even if we didn’t achieve our ultimate objective of going far in this tournament. We’ll take it as another valuable experience. AS OTR of Togo is already a good team, considering their result against Ghana,” he said.
Earlier in the competition, Entente du Bénin faced a tough opening match against Ghana Police, which ended in a 3-0 defeat (25-18, 25-15, 25-19). Despite the initial setback, the team showed resilience and bounced back with their win over AS OTR, signaling a strong recovery as the tournament progresses.
