Club Brugge is reportedly considering Nigerian striker Etiosa Ighodaro as a potential replacement for Igor Thiago, whose departure from the Pro League club this summer is being anticipated. The Belgian outfit, mindful of the looming transfer window, is exploring options to bolster their attacking lineup, with Ighodaro emerging as a prime candidate.

Igor Thiago’s stellar performances for Club Brugge this season, amassing an impressive tally of 30 goals in 48 matches across all competitions, have garnered attention from several European clubs, including English side Brentford.

The 22-year-old Brazilian’s prolific goal-scoring record, with 26 goals and four assists in the league alone, has positioned him as a coveted asset in the transfer market.

With the possibility of Thiago’s departure looming large, Club Brugge is proactive in its pursuit of suitable replacements. Etiosa Ighodaro, a 22-year-old Nigerian striker currently plying his trade in South Africa, has emerged as a viable option.

Having impressed during his tenure at various South African clubs, including Mamelodi Sundowns and Supersport United, Ighodaro has attracted the attention of Club Brugge’s scouting team.

According to reports, Club Brugge has initiated discussions with Mamelodi Sundowns regarding a potential transfer for Ighodaro.

The Nigerian striker, discontent with his current situation at Mamelodi Sundowns, is reportedly open to the prospect of a move to Club Brugge, where he could potentially follow in the footsteps of fellow Nigerian footballers who have donned the club’s colors.

However, despite the speculation surrounding his future, Ighodaro remains focused on finishing the current season strongly with Supersport United, where he is enjoying a prolific spell. T

he promising striker is keen to maintain his impressive form and contribute to his team’s success before potentially making a move to Club Brugge.

As negotiations between the two clubs progress in the coming days, the outcome of Ighodaro’s potential transfer remains uncertain.

Nevertheless, Club Brugge’s interest in the talented Nigerian striker signals their intent to bolster their squad ahead of the upcoming season, as they seek to maintain their competitive edge in both domestic and European competitions.
