Club Africain: Djabou Set to Extend Contract

Djabou Set to Extend Stay at Club Africain Amid Transfer Speculation

Despite widespread speculation linking him with a move abroad following an impressive World Cup campaign with Algeria, midfielder Abdelmoumen Djabou may be set to continue his journey with Club Africain of Tunis.

According to Tunisian outlet Kawarji, Djabou is close to extending his contract with the Tunisian giants. His current deal is set to expire in June 2015, but discussions are reportedly progressing well between the two parties.

The Algerian playmaker, whose performances in Brazil drew the attention of several European scouts, had been widely tipped to leave Club Africain in search of a bigger stage. However, the club appears keen to secure his services a little longer, with an eye on maintaining squad stability.

Nevertheless, sources suggest that Club Africain would remain open to a transfer — but only if the right offer arrives. A significant bid could see Djabou depart before his newly extended deal runs its full course, highlighting the club’s pragmatic stance on balancing on-field performance with financial opportunity.

Djabou’s decision to stay, even temporarily, will be welcomed by fans of the Tunis-based club, who view the 27-year-old as a central figure in their ambitions both domestically and on the continental stage.

While the future remains uncertain in the long term, for now, it appears Djabou is not done writing his story in Tunisian football.
