Tunis – Congolese striker Kassongo Kabongo is set to complete a move to Tunisian side Club Africain, arriving from AS Kaloum in Guinea. Kabongo reached Tunis on Wednesday and is expected to sign his contract with the Bab Jedid club on Thursday.
Kabongo, who posted a farewell message on Facebook thanking his teammates at Kaloum, has enjoyed a prolific spell in Guinea. He won the national championship in 2014 and the Guinean Cup in 2015, and this season he made a strong start by scoring four goals in his first three league matches, topping the scorers’ charts prior to his departure.
Club Africain hopes that Kabongo’s goal-scoring ability will bolster their attacking options as the team looks to compete for domestic honours this season.
