OFFICIAL: Clinton Njie Joins Tottenham from Lyon
Cameroonian striker Clinton Njie has completed his transfer from Olympique Lyonnais to Tottenham Hotspur, fulfilling a long-held dream of playing in the Premier League.
Speaking to L’Équipe, the 21-year-old forward expressed both surprise and excitement:
“No, I didn’t think it would happen so quickly. Then, OL wanted this transfer… Tottenham were insistent and they were the club that expressed the most interest.”
The transfer fee is reported to be €14 million, with an additional €3 million in bonuses, providing Lyon with a significant financial boost.
Njie, known for his pace, dribbling, and versatility, becomes the latest African talent to make the leap to English football. He will now look to make his mark under Mauricio Pochettino as part of Tottenham’s attacking setup.
