AS FAR to face RS Berkane in big CAF Champions League match this weekend

AS FAR manager Alexandre Santos has called for focus and discipline ahead of his side’s decisive second-leg clash against RS Berkane in the CAF Champions League semi-finals.

The Portuguese coach addressed the media before the highly anticipated fixture, with AS FAR holding a 2-0 advantage from the first leg.

The team now travels to the Municipal Stadium of Berkane, knowing that a place in the final is within reach, marking what would be their first appearance at that stage in four decades.

Santos, however, was quick to temper expectations, stressing the magnitude of the occasion and the danger of complacency.

“It’s a great honor to be here. This is the first time in 40 years that AS FAR has reached this stage, and it marks a historic milestone for the club,” he said.

He also warned that the tie is far from decided, drawing a comparison to a halftime lead in a single-match scenario.

“There is no clear favourite. It’s like going into the dressing room at halftime up 2-0; you still have at least 90 minutes of football to play. We have worked for 14 months to build this group, and we intend to stick to our philosophy: dominate possession, create chances, and keep a clean sheet.”

With AS FAR seeking a historic final berth and RS Berkane aiming for a dramatic turnaround on home soil, the stage is set for a tense and tactical showdown in one of the continent’s most closely watched ties.
