The boundary between boxing and cinema often proves to be permeable, and for Mike Tyson, transitioning from the ring to the silver screen is a seamless journey. The former world boxing champion is set to make an appearance in a film scheduled for release next year.
After a dominating career in world boxing and consistent appearances in the headlines, Mike Tyson is now venturing into the realm of cinema. This motivation brought him to Algeria in early December. During his visit, the former heavyweight spent several days in Oran, actively participating in the filming of “Algeria Forever,” an action film directed by Frenchman Jean-Marc Minéo. This co-production between France and Algeria narrates the story of a plot devised by a former member of the OAS (Secret Army Organization) advocating for French Algeria. The film is slated for release in 2014 and features French singer Lorie and comedian Smaïn in the cast.
Following the conclusion of filming, Mike Tyson, alongside the film team, held a press conference where he described the experience as “extraordinary” and commended the “warm welcome” extended by the Oranese population. Additionally, he shared that he had the opportunity to attend Friday prayers in a mosque within the city.
