On Monday, Fulham faced Queens Park Rangers for the closing match of the 31st day of the Premier League. Already at the bottom of the standings (last), the QPR lost 3-2, with the Congolese defender Christopher Samba delivering a subpar performance and conceding two goals (including a penalty). Samba later apologized on Twitter, stating, “I’m really sorry, I let the team down,” and expressing anger at his first-half performance. He acknowledged his mistakes and accepted responsibility for the defeat. Despite his apology, the loss did little to improve QPR’s position in the standings.
