Christopher Samba Signs Three-Year Deal with Trabzonspor
Veteran defender Christopher Samba has officially joined Turkish side Trabzonspor on a three-year contract, following his departure from Dynamo Moscow. The Congolese centre-back completed his signing on Wednesday, marking the beginning of a new chapter in his extensive career.
The 31-year-old, who made 48 appearances last season in all competitions, brings experience and physical presence to Trabzonspor’s backline. Samba previously played in England with Blackburn Rovers and Queens Park Rangers, and has also represented clubs in Russia.
His move to Trabzon reunites him with former QPR teammate Stéphane Mbia, who also recently signed with the Süper Lig club. The duo’s previous partnership in London adds a layer of familiarity to Trabzonspor’s defensive unit.
Meanwhile, the club is also reportedly closing in on a deal for Senegalese striker Dame N’Doye, although negotiations are still ongoing. If completed, the addition of N’Doye would further strengthen the squad as Trabzonspor aim to challenge domestically and in European competition.
Samba’s arrival is seen as a significant step in the club’s rebuilding process as they look to return to the upper echelons of Turkish football.
