Chelsea striker Christopher Nkunku has been presented to Barcelona by his agent, Pini Zahavi, as the January transfer window approaches.
Zahavi, known for his strong ties with Barcelona president Joan Laporta, has facilitated the offer amid Nkunku’s struggles for consistent playing time at Chelsea this season.
The 27-year-old French international, who has Congolese roots, is willing to accept a salary reduction to join the Catalan club.
Despite being Chelsea’s top scorer with 12 goals this season, Nkunku has only started two Premier League matches and is currently overshadowed by teammate Nicolas Jackson.
Chelsea’s management is reportedly open to a swap deal involving Nkunku and Barcelona midfielder Fermin Lopez, who has seen limited action at Camp Nou.
However, Chelsea manager Enzo Maresca has publicly stated that Nkunku is not for sale in January, emphasizing that the player expressed a desire for more game opportunities but did not indicate dissatisfaction with his current situation.
As speculation mounts regarding Nkunku’s future, interest from clubs like Paris Saint-Germain and Manchester United adds further complexity to the situation.
