Christian Gross praises strikers after Zamalek’s 4-1 victory over El Gouna
Zamalek coach Christian Gross was pleased with his team’s attacking display in a dominant 4-1 win over El Gouna on Monday in the Nile Egyptian League.
Despite the comfortable result, Gross stressed the importance of tightening up defensively and finding ways to cope without key playmaker Abdallah El Said.
In his post-match comments, Gross said: “Today’s match was tough but we succeeded in achieving victory, and I’m happy to see our strikers scoring in this game.”
He continued, “The team performed well, especially in the second half, and we have already started preparing for the next league match against Pyramids.”
The Swiss coach also highlighted that the team must improve on avoiding unnecessary goals: “What we need to improve is avoiding conceding goals, especially goals like the one we conceded today.”
Gross expressed confidence in his squad, revealing that Al-Wensh’s injury wasn’t as serious as initially feared. With the victory, Zamalek moved up to second place, just one point behind Pyramids ahead of their upcoming clash on Friday.
