Christian Bekamenga Transfer Collapses After Failed Medical at Club Africain
Cameroonian striker Christian Bekamenga will not be joining Tunisian side Club Africain following a failed medical examination, the club has confirmed.
Bekamenga, 28, who currently plays for Laval, had travelled to Tunisia last Thursday to undergo the necessary medical tests ahead of a proposed three-year contract with Club Africain. Initial reports suggested the transfer was progressing smoothly, but new developments have halted the move.
Club Africain’s medical team revealed that Bekamenga suffers from an old cruciate ligament injury in his left knee, a condition that could potentially impact his performance and durability in future matches. The club’s doctor, Mohsen Trabelsi, confirmed the findings, stating the injury was significant enough to prompt the board to suspend the finalisation of the striker’s contract.
As a result, Club Africain have officially abandoned plans to recruit Bekamenga, ending hopes of the Cameroonian joining the Tunisian league.
