Christ Letono: Amiens recruit Cameroon forward after Espanyol B spell

Cameroon centre-forward Christ Letono has joined Amiens SC from RCD Espanyol B, giving the French club a 22-year-old attacking option ahead of the new season.

Letono completed the move on 27 August and will play for Amiens in Ligue 3. The 1.98m striker arrives after one season with Espanyol B, where he made 29 appearances in the Segunda Federacion and scored eight goals, with one assist.

The forward began his senior career at Stade Reims, progressing from the club’s under-19 side to its reserve team in 2023. He spent part of the 2024-25 season on loan at FC Rouen 1899 before returning to Reims B at the end of the campaign.

Letono then moved to Espanyol B on a free transfer in July 2025. His time in Spain followed a productive spell with Reims’ reserve side, where he scored 19 goals in 25 appearances in National 3 during the 2024-25 season.

He has also featured in France’s domestic cup competitions, scoring three times in three Coupe de France appearances. His club record includes senior appearances in Ligue 1, National 1, National 2 and Ligue 3, alongside his experience in reserve and youth football.

A right-footed striker, Letono has spent the majority of his career operating as a centre-forward. Amiens become his latest club after spells with Saint-Cyr, Stade Reims, Rouen and Espanyol B.

The move also marks a return to France for the Douala-born player, who developed through the French football system before spending the previous campaign in Spain. He joins Amiens at the age of 22 and brings experience from both French and Spanish football to the club’s forward line.

Letono has signed a contract with Amiens running until 30 June 2028.
