Roger Boli praises Ivorian talent Christ Inao Oulaï
Former French-Ivorian striker Roger Boli has praised the rapid rise of Christ Inao Oulaï, describing the 19-year-old midfielder as a player with the qualities to succeed at the highest level.
Once relatively unknown at SC Bastia, Oulaï has developed into an emerging figure on the European stage, earning recognition for his performances at club level and with Ivory Coast.
His maturity on the pitch and growing influence have marked him out as one of the most promising young talents in the game.
Boli highlighted the midfielder’s work ethic and energy, underlining the attributes that have driven his progress. “He’s a young player with a high work rate, very active.
He knows how to work hard and bring energy to his team. He’s like a great motivator, someone who brings a lot of energy. In short, he’s a very good player.”
The endorsement comes amid increasing attention surrounding Oulaï, who currently plays for Trabzonspor.
His performances have strengthened his reputation both domestically and internationally, particularly following discussions around his impact during and after the Africa Cup of Nations.
Despite the praise, Boli urged caution, stressing the importance of continued development. “Now, he needs to keep working, keep improving. (…) We talked a lot about him during and after the AFCON, but he needs to keep growing.”
The former RC Lens forward also pointed to areas where the young midfielder must improve to reach his full potential.
“He needs to be effective defensively, because he’s a midfielder. And offensively, he needs to be very important for his team. A midfielder who scores goals is a real asset to his team. He needs to be able to do all of that.”
Interest in Oulaï continues to grow, with clubs such as Chelsea FC reportedly monitoring his progress. Boli believes a move to England could be beneficial for the player’s development.
“He’s a lad who can play in England because he’s not afraid of hard work. He’s every bit as good as the English. He’s not physically imposing, but he’s quick and agile. England would be ideal for his future.”
As attention around Oulaï intensifies, the focus remains on his ability to build on early promise and establish himself among Europe’s elite midfielders.
