Chris Bedia: Al-Nasr sign Ivory Coast forward from Union Berlin
Al-Nasr have signed Ivory Coast and France forward Chris Bedia from Union Berlin as the 30-year-old centre-forward swaps the Bundesliga for the UAE Pro League. The experienced striker joins the Dubai club as a left-footed attacking option through the middle.
Bedia arrives from Union Berlin, where he moved in January 2024 from Swiss side Servette for a €2m fee and later spent loan spells with Hull City and Young Boys. His switch to Al-Nasr follows a period of regular top-flight football in Germany, Switzerland, France and Belgium.
The Abidjan-born forward has built a reputation as a consistent goalscorer at club level, most notably in the Swiss Super League, where he scored 48 goals and provided 11 assists in 107 appearances. He also has experience in major European competitions, having scored in both the Europa League and Champions League qualifying rounds.
Standing at 1.90m, Bedia adds a physically imposing presence to Al-Nasr’s attack, combining aerial strength with a strong left foot. His versatility in leading the line and his record of a goal roughly every game and a half in Switzerland underline the profile Al-Nasr have targeted.
At international youth level, Bedia was part of the Ivory Coast side that won the Under-17 Africa Cup of Nations in 2013, adding further pedigree to his resume. He also lifted the Swiss Cup with Servette in the 2023-24 season, contributing to a period of success before his move to Germany.
Bedia’s transfer from Union Berlin to Al-Nasr is completed ahead of the new UAE Pro League campaign, with the forward now formally registered as an Al-Nasr player.
