Chouaib El Maftoul: Morocco winger joins IRF Ben Salah on free transfer
Morocco winger Chouaib El Maftoul has joined IRF Ben Salah from Branes on a free transfer, completing his move to the Moroccan club on 14 September 2026.
The 31-year-old right winger arrives after spending the previous part of his career with Branes, whom he joined from Al-Wahda SC in February 2025, also on a free transfer. El Maftoul’s latest move represents his return to Moroccan football after a spell with the Libyan club.
El Maftoul has made 145 appearances in the Botola Pro Inwi, scoring 12 goals and providing 10 assists. He has also featured in the Libyan Premier League, where he recorded one assist in five appearances.
His career has included experience in domestic and continental competitions. El Maftoul has played in the Moroccan Throne Cup, the CAF Confederation Cup and the CAF Champions League, scoring once in three Confederation Cup appearances. He also made three appearances in a relegation play-off competition.
Before moving abroad, El Maftoul represented FUS Rabat and Difaa El Jadida in Morocco. He joined FUS Rabat from Difaa El Jadida in August 2023, having previously spent more than five years with the latter after progressing from DHJ U21.
El Maftoul’s senior career began with Difaa El Jadida following his move from the club’s under-21 side in December 2017. His time with the club included appearances in the Botola Pro Inwi and Moroccan cup competitions, while his later spell at FUS Rabat added further top-flight experience.
The winger, who was born in El Jadida, is right-footed and has represented Moroccan clubs throughout much of his career. His arrival at IRF Ben Salah follows successive free transfers from Difaa El Jadida to FUS Rabat, FUS Rabat to Al-Wahda SC, Al-Wahda SC to Branes and now Branes to his new club.
El Maftoul is now an IRF Ben Salah player after completing the free transfer from Branes.
