Chippa United coach Vusumuzi Vilakazi draws positives despite Orlando Pirates defeat
Chippa United coach Vusumuzi Vilakazi took a number of his outfit defeat to Orlando Pirates in the South African Premeir League clash on Tuesday.
The Soweto giants triumphed over Chippa United with a 2-0 win, marking their fourth victory in their last five matches.
Evidence Makgopa and Aswin Appollis scored at Orlando Stadium as Pirates gave bottom placed Chippa United no space chance to breathe.
However, Vilakazi speaking after the match affirmed his outfit failure to stay focused for the entire game led to their defeat to Pirates.
The defeat heavily hampers their chances of moving away from the relegation quagmire as they remain on the bottom of the PSL table.
“No, obviously we’re disappointed with the result, we wanted to fight so that we can be victorious on the day but it was just not meant to be. But I’m happy with the spirit, I think if we can keep working like this, fighting like this we’ll definitely not go down,” said Vilakazi SuperSport TV after the game.
“But we can only take the positives out of this game, obviously we snapped in the crucial stages of the game where we needed to concentrate a little bit more. But with the effort from the players and commitment I’m very much happy.”
The Eastern Cape-based Chippa seem to finding the going tough as they have already changed more than two coaches this season in an effort to move to a respectable position on the table.
Vilakazi’s days remain numbered in Gqeberha as its known club boss, Chippa Mpengesi, is not shy to send gaffers packing irrespective of the length of their stay at the club.
