Chijioke Mbaoma clinches Golden Boot in NPFL’s 2023-2024 season
Chijioke Mbaoma has been crowned the top scorer in the Nigerian Professional Football League (NPFL) for the 2023-2024 season, marking a significant achievement for the young Enyimba FC striker. His stellar performance culminated on the 38th and final day of the season, earning him the prestigious Golden Boot.
Mbaoma has had an extraordinary season with Enyimba FC, playing a crucial role in the team securing third place in the league standings.
Despite a strong contention for the title, Enyimba’s campaign fell short in the closing stages. Nonetheless, Mbaoma’s contributions were pivotal throughout the season.
Following Emeka Obioma’s departure at the end of the previous season, Mbaoma stepped up as Enyimba’s leading striker.
The 21-year-old netted 17 of Enyimba FC’s 46 goals, accounting for an impressive 36.95% of the team’s total goals.
His outstanding tally was achieved over 34 appearances, cementing his position as the top scorer of the season.
In addition to the Golden Boot, Mbaoma received a reward of 3.4 million Naira.
