Chido Obi-Martin: Rising Nigerian talent at Manchester United

Chido Obi-Martin, a 17-year-old Nigerian striker, has signed his first professional contract with Manchester United, solidifying his place as one of football’s brightest young prospects. The forward, who joined United from Arsenal last October, has been a prolific presence in the club’s youth teams, recently becoming the U18 Premier League’s all-time top scorer with 37 goals.

Hailing from Enugu, Nigeria, Obi-Martin showcased his talent again last weekend, scoring a stunning goal in the U18s’ 3-0 win over Stoke City.

His remarkable achievements include netting ten goals in a single U16 match against Liverpool.

Born in Denmark to Nigerian parents, Obi-Martin is eligible to represent Nigeria, Denmark, or England.

Close sources suggest he may prioritize Nigeria, aiming to make an impact at future World Cups.

Manchester United’s decision to offer him a contract on his 17th birthday underscores their confidence in a player hailed as a “mega talent.

With his career gaining momentum, Obi-Martin is poised to leave an indelible mark on football.
