Chido Obi-Martin linked with loan move to FC Koln
FC Koln are in talks with Manchester United over a loan move for young striker Chido Obi-Martin as they continue to reinforce their attack.
FC Köln could once again dip into the English market for reinforcements, this time targeting highly rated Manchester United youngster Chidozie Obi-Martin.
According to transfer journalist Pete O’Rourke, the Bundesliga side are in talks with United over a potential loan deal for the 18-year-old forward. Koln have already secured centre-back Jahmai Simpson-Pusey from Manchester City after an initial loan, and now hope to make Obi the next emerging talent to join their project.
Obi-Martin, a Denmark under-20 international with Nigerian roots, moved from Arsenal’s academy to Manchester United’s youth setup in 2024. He made his Premier League debut in February 2025 against Tottenham Hotspur at just 17, finishing that season with eight senior appearances for the Red Devils.
Last season, his first-team involvement was limited to a single squad appearance, but he shone for United’s under-21s in Premier League 2. In 22 games, he scored 13 goals, underlining his eye for goal and development potential. A move to Koln would give him a chance to test himself regularly at senior level and increase competition in the German club’s attack ahead of the new campaign.
