Chesham bring in England-Nigeria midfielder Dubem Eze from Sutton United

England-Nigeria attacking midfielder Dubem Eze has joined Chesham from Sutton United, completing a move between National League clubs on 14 August 2026.

The 21-year-old London-born player arrives at Chesham after spending the opening part of the 2026-27 campaign with Sutton. Eze plays primarily in attacking midfield and is right-footed. He stands 1.77m tall.

Eze had been with Sutton since January 2026, when he moved there from Bolton Wanderers B. His spell at Sutton followed a season that included loans with Scunthorpe United and Halifax Town.

He joined Scunthorpe in July 2025 and returned to Bolton’s B team at the start of January 2026. Before that, Eze spent the latter part of the 2024-25 season on loan at Halifax, having previously featured for Chorley during the same campaign.

The midfielder’s move to Bolton’s B team came in July 2024, when he left Norwich City’s under-21 side. Eze had progressed into Norwich’s under-21 set-up after joining from the club’s under-18 team in July 2023.

His earlier development included time with Derby County’s under-18s, whom he joined from Chelsea’s youth set-up in January 2022. Those moves came before his progression through Norwich’s academy system.

Eze’s arrival gives Chesham another midfielder with experience across National League and National League South-level football. Chesham compete in the National League South, while Sutton remain in the National League.

He had not played in the National League during the 2026-27 season before making the switch, with his move taking place after the campaign’s first scheduled fixture. The transfer also marks another change of club for Eze during a period in which he has combined permanent moves with loan spells.

Chesham have now added the England-Nigeria player to their squad, with Eze joining after his latest spell at Sutton United.
