Cherif Segnane: Senegal right-back joins Lucon FC on free transfer from Les Sables VF

Senegal defender Cherif Segnane has joined French side Lucon FC on a free transfer from Les Sables VF.

The 21-year-old right-back makes the move after featuring in the French National 2 with Les Sables, stepping across to Lucon as the club reshapes its options in defence ahead of the new campaign. The deal is a permanent switch following the end of his spell with the Sables-based side.

Segnane, born on 28 July 2004, is primarily deployed at right-back but is listed as a defender, underlining his ability to operate across the back line if required. He links up with Lucon at a stage of his career where he already has senior minutes behind him in both league and cup competitions in France.

Last season, Segnane collected 10 appearances in National 2 Group B and also featured in the Coupe de France, gaining experience in both league and knockout football. His game time, though limited in some outings, provided exposure to senior competitive action that Lucon will now look to harness.

The move also keeps Segnane within the same competitive tier, offering continuity in level while presenting a fresh environment and new competition for places. For Lucon, the acquisition adds depth to the defensive unit without a transfer fee being involved, giving the club added flexibility in the market.

Segnane’s transfer was finalised on 17 July 2026, confirming his switch from Les Sables VF to Lucon FC on a free transfer.
