English League Two side Cheltenham Town has secured the services of Valentino Adedokun, an Ireland-born defender of Nigerian descent, on loan from Brentford.
The club announced the move on Wednesday, January 8, via its social media platforms, expressing enthusiasm about the addition to their squad.
“We are delighted to confirm the signing of defender Valentino Adedokun on loan from Brentford until the end of the season. Welcome to Town, Val,” the club said in a statement.
Cheltenham Town manager Michael Flynn highlighted Adedokun’s qualities, expressing optimism about his impact on the team.
“Val will give us good competition for places in the squad. He’s quick, explosive, and very good in one-v-one situations both defensively and in the final third,” Flynn stated.
Adedokun, who has spent part of the season on loan in Hungary with Diosgyori VTK, joins his Brentford academy teammate, striker Ashley Hay, at Cheltenham.
The addition of Adedokun strengthens Cheltenham’s defensive options as the club seeks to improve its performance in League Two.
