Chelsea are ramping up efforts to secure Marc Guehi’s signature this summer, with the Blues determined to outbid Premier League rivals Liverpool, Tottenham Hotspur, and Newcastle United for the Crystal Palace defender.
Guehi, who has emerged as one of the league’s finest centre-backs, is valued at £75million, a price tag that has previously deterred clubs from striking a deal. Despite failed bids from Newcastle and a £70m offer from Spurs, Palace are holding firm, knowing they’ll demand a premium for their prized asset.
With Guehi’s contract running until 2026, the defender has shown little inclination to extend his stay, increasing the urgency for rival clubs to act fast.
According to reports, Chelsea’s interest in re-signing Guehi has intensified, with Blues boss Enzo Maresca giving the green light to bring the England international back to Stamford Bridge. Guehi is now a key target for Chelsea, who see him as a defensive leader capable of strengthening the team’s character.
