Chelsea step up interest in Monaco midfielder Lamine Camara

Chelsea have made contact over a possible move for Monaco midfielder Lamine Camara, adding further competition to an increasingly crowded race for the Senegal international.

According to Foot Mercato, the London club has made enquiries about Camara and confirmed its interest in the 21-year-old. His all-round midfield qualities have attracted the attention of Chelsea’s recruitment department, who are understood to view him as a particularly appealing candidate.

Chelsea’s involvement adds to a list of Premier League clubs monitoring the player. Crystal Palace, Nottingham Forest, Manchester United and Liverpool are also following Camara’s situation closely, meaning the competition for his signature could become even more intense.

Camara has continued to draw interest in England because of his profile, energy and ability to operate at the highest level. Those qualities have placed him firmly on the radar of several major English clubs and made him one of the most closely watched players in Monaco’s squad.

For now, Camara remains a Monaco player, but the growing number of Premier League admirers means his future is likely to remain a major talking point.
