Chelsea are preparing to end their association with defender Axel Disasi, with both parties reportedly moving towards a mutual termination of his contract amid interest from Italian giants Juventus.
Disasi, 27, who is of Congolese heritage but represents France at international level, spent the latter half of last season on loan at Aston Villa after struggling to secure a consistent role under Chelsea’s evolving defensive setup.
The Blues signed Disasi from AS Monaco in the summer of 2023 for £38.5 million, aiming to reinforce their defensive options following a transitional period at the club.
However, his impact at Stamford Bridge fell short of expectations, and he has since slipped down the pecking order behind Levi Colwill, Wesley Fofana, and Trevoh Chalobah.
According to reports from TuttoJuve, Chelsea are now open to allowing the centre-back to leave as a free agent, despite having four years left on his contract.
The move would mark a significant financial loss for the Premier League side but reflects their willingness to trim the squad and shift focus toward younger options.
Juventus are said to be monitoring the situation closely and have made enquiries about Disasi’s availability.
However, the Turin-based club is reportedly reluctant to pay a transfer fee due to ongoing financial constraints, making Chelsea’s openness to a free transfer increasingly appealing.
Disasi’s time at Villa did little to alter his standing at Chelsea, and with competition in defence intensifying, the former Monaco man appears set for a fresh start elsewhere.
