Chelsea is preparing to extend the contract of Senegalese striker Nicolas Jackson, just over a year after his arrival at Stamford Bridge. The 22-year-old forward, who initially signed a long-term deal running until June 2031, is now expected to commit to the club until June 2033.

Speaking at a press conference following Chelsea’s 1-1 draw with Crystal Palace on Sunday, head coach Enzo Maresca confirmed the club’s intentions: “I can confirm that we are considering extending Nicolas Jackson’s contract until June 2033.”

This news comes after Jackson scored the opening goal in the match, bringing his tally to two goals in all competitions this season.

Jackson, who joined Chelsea from Villarreal last summer, has quickly established himself as a key player in the squad. Despite some criticism over his finishing, the young forward is regarded as a vital part of Chelsea’s future plans.

His pace, agility, and ability to lead the line have made him a favorite under Maresca’s system, which prioritizes quick transitions and dynamic attacking play.

In last weekend’s match against Wolverhampton, where Chelsea secured a commanding 6-2 victory, Jackson also found the net, showcasing his potential as a consistent goal threat.

His performance against Crystal Palace further solidified his role in the team, and Chelsea’s management is eager to secure his services for the long term.

According to reports from *The Athletic*, Jackson has already agreed to the contract extension, which includes an option that was part of his initial agreement with the club.

This extension mirrors the recent decision to secure Cole Palmer, another promising talent, until 2033.

Palmer provided the assist for Jackson’s goal against Crystal Palace, highlighting the synergy between the two young stars and their importance to Chelsea’s long-term strategy.

At just 23 years old, Jackson’s extended contract would see him at the club until the age of 32, a clear indication of Chelsea’s belief in his potential to develop into one of the Premier League’s top strikers.

The official announcement of this extension is expected to be made in the coming days, as Chelsea looks to solidify its future with a core of young, talented players.

With Jackson’s contract extension on the horizon, Chelsea fans can look forward to watching the Senegalese international continue to grow and contribute to the club’s ambitions in both domestic and European competitions.

As Chelsea continues to invest in its future, Jackson’s commitment is seen as a significant step in building a team capable of challenging for top honors in the years to come.
