In a hard-fought match, Chelsea managed to secure a draw against Atletico Madrid in the first leg of the Champions League semi-final on Tuesday evening. However, this draw came at a cost as the London club lost two key players: goalkeeper Petr Cech and captain John Terry. Both are expected to be unavailable for the remainder of the season, as confirmed by José Mourinho after the match.

The first blow came when Petr Cech was forced off after landing awkwardly on his shoulder. David Luiz’s challenge on Raul Garcia resulted in the legs of the Spanish player colliding with Cech, who immediately signaled to be substituted. Mourinho stated, “His season is over. Don’t ask me for technical details, but his season is over.”

Later in the game, David Luiz inadvertently stepped on John Terry’s foot, causing the Chelsea captain to hobble for a few seconds before requesting to be substituted. Mourinho confirmed, “His season is over unless we reach the final of the Champions League, which will take place on May 24.”
