Samuel Eto’o, who joined Chelsea last summer, has formed a formidable attacking partnership with Belgian striker Eden Hazard. Impressed by Hazard’s performances, Eto’o believes that Hazard has the potential to reach the same level as Lionel Messi or Cristiano Ronaldo.
“Eto’o stated in an interview with Het Nieuwsbkad, “Eden has everything to become a unique player. He has the qualities and proves it day after day. To become unique like Lionel Messi or Cristiano Ronaldo, he must just dare to think about himself but also take responsibility to allow the team to win.”
Drawing from his experience playing alongside Messi at Barcelona, Eto’o compared Hazard to the Argentine superstar. He emphasized that Hazard is close to reaching that level but needs to consistently make a difference on the pitch.
Eto’o also expressed admiration for Vincent Kompany, considering him a natural leader and one of the best defenders in the world. He expressed his wish to see Kompany play for an African country, believing that Africa needs leaders like him.
