CHELSEA-PSG: LAVEZZI INTENDS TO REPEAT THE FEAT, EVEN WITHOUT ZLATAN!

In the absence of Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Paris Saint-Germain faces Chelsea in the decisive second leg of the Champions League quarter-final. Despite the absence of their star striker, Ezequiel Lavezzi believes PSG can overcome Chelsea, contrary to José Mourinho’s hopes.

Ibrahimovic sustained a thigh injury during PSG’s victory in the first leg, ruling him out of the crucial match at Stamford Bridge. Lavezzi, who scored in the first leg, expressed confidence in PSG’s ability to perform well even without their prolific scorer.

“Zlatan is, for me, the best striker in the world, and of course, we will miss him in London. But we can beat Chelsea without him,” Lavezzi stated. “We have plenty of players with the qualities to trouble Chelsea, as we showed in the first leg.”

Lavezzi, with 28 caps for Argentina, anticipates that Chelsea will have to adopt an attacking approach, which may disrupt their usual defensive style. PSG aims to capitalize on this by attempting to score an away goal.

“We’re not just planning to defend; we have to be smart, but we’re going to try to score because we know an away goal could kill the game,” Lavezzi added.
