Chelsea delivered a commanding performance at Stamford Bridge on Saturday, securing a 4-2 victory over Brighton & Hove Albion during the Premier League’s sixth matchday. In a thrilling encounter, Nicolas Jackson provided a key assist, but it was Cole Palmer’s extraordinary display that stole the spotlight, as the English forward netted four goals in the first half alone.

Coming off the back of a strong week that saw Chelsea dominate West Ham 3-0 and cruise to a 5-0 win over Barrow in the League Cup, the Blues carried their momentum into the weekend clash against Brighton.

Despite a shaky start, Chelsea found their rhythm to overpower a determined Brighton side.

Brighton struck first, with Georginio Rutter opening the scoring for the Seagulls just seven minutes into the game.

The early goal shocked the Stamford Bridge crowd, but Chelsea’s response was swift.

In the 21st minute, Nicolas Jackson, playing at the heart of the attack, made his presence felt by setting up Cole Palmer for the equalizer.

This assist marked Jackson’s third of the season, showcasing his growing influence in Chelsea’s forward line.

What followed was a masterclass from Palmer.

The 21-year-old striker tore through Brighton’s defense with a dazzling display of clinical finishing.

Palmer gave Chelsea the lead in the 28th minute, coolly converting a penalty to make it 2-1.

But he wasn’t finished. Just three minutes later, he struck again, finding the net after a swift counterattack, leaving Brighton reeling.

By the 41st minute, Palmer had completed his hat-trick and added a fourth, setting a Premier League record as the first player to score four goals in the first half of a match.

With Chelsea in firm control, the second half saw fewer fireworks, but Brighton managed to pull one back late in the game.

Their efforts, however, were not enough to overturn Chelsea’s dominant performance, and the Blues comfortably secured all three points.

This victory moves Chelsea into provisional third place in the Premier League standings, continuing their impressive start to the season under new manager Enzo Maresca.

The team’s recent form has been a cause for optimism among fans, with Maresca’s attacking philosophy beginning to bear fruit.

Palmer, in particular, has emerged as a key figure in the team’s resurgence, and his four-goal haul will undoubtedly be a talking point in the days to come.

As for Nicolas Jackson, his ability to link up play and provide crucial assists adds another layer to Chelsea’s attacking threat.

Chelsea will now turn their attention to their next Premier League fixture, where they will be hoping to extend their winning run and solidify their position among the top contenders.

With players like Palmer and Jackson in top form, the Blues are beginning to look like a force to be reckoned with this season.
