Chelsea must repay fans with results – Romeo Lavia ahead of Man United test
Chelsea FC midfielder Romeo Lavia has delivered a clear message ahead of a crucial Premier League encounter, insisting the squad is driven by a strong desire to reward the club’s loyal supporters with improved performances.
With Manchester United visiting Stamford Bridge, the Belgian midfielder acknowledged that recent inconsistencies have heightened the urgency within the dressing room.
Chelsea currently sit sixth in the table, and while their position keeps them in contention for European qualification, Lavia admits that only a strong finish will satisfy expectations both inside and outside the club.
Speaking in the club’s official matchday programme, Lavia stressed the importance of reconnecting with supporters through results on the pitch.
“We want to give the fans what they want and what they come to support us for,” he said. “So the mindset is to set things right and get back to winning ways, because that’s the most important thing at the moment.”
The 22-year-old also urged his teammates to maintain belief during the final stretch of the campaign, highlighting the significance of the remaining fixtures.
“Also, we are still in there. I think the worst thing now would be to think that it’s over, because there are six games, it’s six finals, so we need to give everything.”
Lavia’s comments come as he continues his return from a lengthy injury layoff that disrupted much of his season. The midfielder has gradually been reintegrated into the squad, offering a timely boost as Chelsea look to build momentum during a decisive period.
Reflecting on his comeback, he expressed both relief and determination to regain rhythm.
“It’s very good to be back with the boys, with my team-mates, and also to be back playing at Stamford Bridge,” he said. “That’s always an incredible feeling. Just to be able to keep gaining these minutes and building some consistency, that’s the most important thing.”
