Chelsea monitor Strasbourg winger Gessime Yassine

Chelsea are monitoring Strasbourg winger Gessime Yassine following his impressive rise in French football.

The Moroccan attacker has quickly turned early promise into strong performances at Ligue 1 level, attracting attention within the BlueCo network.

Yassine emerged at Dunkirk under then sporting director Demba Ba. During the first half of last season in Ligue 2, he recorded three goals and eight assists in 15 appearances, form that encouraged Strasbourg to invest about €7 million in January. The club moved ahead of interest from the City Football Group and Red Bull.

The decision is already looking worthwhile. Yassine has scored twice and provided one assist across his first five matches this season, while his all-round displays have also earned him a place in the Morocco national-team setup.

According to TEAMtalk, BlueCo executives are pleased with the recruitment. Chelsea’s ownership group sees Yassine as an example of its broader model: identify a talented young player early, give him high-level Ligue 1 experience at Strasbourg, and monitor his development closely.

A move to Chelsea is not currently planned, but the London club are said to be watching his progress carefully. Yassine must now sustain his excellent start and continue developing.
