When Paris Saint-Germain players arrived at the Parc des Princes on Wednesday, all eyes were on Zlatan Ibrahimovic. However, as the match unfolded, another standout performer for the Parisian club emerged in the 3rd minute: Ezequiel Lavezzi. Yet, despite his stellar performance, Lavezzi’s future may lie elsewhere, possibly with Chelsea.
Reports surfaced indicating that Ezequiel Lavezzi, PSG’s standout player against Chelsea in the Champions League quarter-final first leg, could be on the verge of joining the London club. Italian journalist Gianluca Di Marzio revealed the news, stating that Lavezzi’s agents recently held discussions in London with representatives of Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich. A follow-up meeting is reportedly scheduled, with Lavezzi allegedly prepared to depart, as stated by Di Marzio: “his suitcase ready to leave.” It’s worth noting that José Mourinho has already expressed the need for an additional attacker.
The question remains whether Roman Abramovich will succeed in persuading PSG’s Nasser Al-Khelaïfi to part ways with the 28-year-old Argentine forward, who is under contract until June 2016 and valued at over 20 million euros.
