Premier League giants Chelsea have made a fresh contact to acquire Spanish-Ghanaian winger Nico Williams ahead of the summer transfer window.
Williams, who plies his trade for Athletic Bilbao is one of the most sought after players following his outstanding performance for club and country.
The Blues are seeking to strengthen their attack ahead of the new season, with Williams emerging as a top transfer target for the club.
The enterprising winger is contracted to Athletic Bilbao until 2027 and has a release clause of €58 million.
However, the Spanish club will demand full payment of the release clause before sanctioning a move for talented winger in the summer.
Chelsea have reportedly made fresh contact with Athletic Bilbao in a bid to fend off competition from Arsenal, Liverpool and Tottenham Hotspur to secure Nico Williams signing.
The Blues have been informed, however, that Nico wants to play at the highest level and that their attempts to complete a deal likely hinge on their qualification for the Champions League next season.
Williams has made 25 appearances in the Spanish La Liga this season, scoring four goals and providing five assists.
