Chelsea Football Club has reportedly set a substantial price tag for Nigerian midfielder Carney Chukwuemeka, with the club aiming to secure at least €50 million from any potential transfer.
The decision reflects Chelsea’s valuation of the 21-year-old, despite his limited playing time under head coach Enzo Maresca.
Reports indicate that Chukwuemeka is no longer in the coach’s plans and could be on his way out during the winter transfer window.
Several top clubs, including Celtic, AC Milan, Napoli, FC Barcelona, Atlético Madrid, Crystal Palace, West Ham, and Eintracht Frankfurt, are reportedly interested in acquiring his services.
Chukwuemeka joined Chelsea in August 2022, transferring from Aston Villa for a fee of €18 million. However, two seasons later, the young midfielder has struggled to secure significant minutes on the pitch.
Despite this, Chelsea remains steadfast in its valuation, reportedly unwilling to accept less than €50 million for the talented player.
This price tag highlights Chelsea’s strategy to maximize returns on its investments, even for players who have not featured prominently in the squad.
Interested clubs will need to weigh the asking price against Chukwuemeka’s potential as they prepare for negotiations in the upcoming transfer window.
