Chelsea’s Jérémie Boga Signs Pro Contract Amid Loan Interest
Chelsea’s promising young attacking midfielder Jérémie Boga has signed his first professional contract with the club, committing to the Blues until June 2017. The 18-year-old French talent, hailed as a rising star for his country, recently impressed by training and featuring with the senior squad, including a friendly match against Wycombe Wanderers.
Despite his potential, it remains unclear whether José Mourinho will integrate Boga into his first-team plans this season. The Chelsea manager has already shown some faith by involving him with the senior players, but competition for places means playing time could be limited.
According to reports from Footmercato, two clubs have already expressed interest in securing Boga’s services: Spain’s Rayo Vallecano and a mid-table Ligue 1 club in France. Both are reportedly keen on bringing the young midfielder in, likely on loan.
Boga himself has acknowledged the depth of talent Chelsea possesses in his position and expressed openness to a loan move to accelerate his development. “There are very good players in my position at Chelsea, so I’m open to going on loan next season,” Boga said. “My goal is to gain as much experience as possible and progress, whether with Chelsea’s first team or elsewhere.”
The decision ultimately rests with Mourinho, who will weigh up whether Boga is ready for Premier League action or would benefit more from regular minutes elsewhere.
