Mourinho Declares Chelsea Ready for Titles, Admits No Room for Error
Chelsea manager José Mourinho has expressed full satisfaction with the club’s summer transfer window, declaring that his team is now fully equipped to challenge for silverware — and that he will have “no excuses” if they fall short.
Speaking at a pre-season press conference, the Portuguese tactician praised the club’s swift business, which saw Chelsea sign Cesc Fàbregas, Diego Costa, and Filipe Luís early in the window. All three were identified as Mourinho’s top targets.
“My team is stronger,” said Mourinho. “It has learned a lot from its transitional season. We still reached the semi-finals of the Champions League with this very perfectible group and without Nemanja Matic, who had not qualified for Europe.”
