Chelsea eye move to sign French-Ivory striker Mohamed Kader Meite tagged as new Drogba
English Premier League side Chelsea are reportedly considering a move to sign teenager, Mohamed Kader Meite.
The 17-year-old Rennes forward has been one of the breakout stars of 2025, impressing with his strength, aerial dominance, and clinical finishing. These are qualities that have drawn parallels with Chelsea legend Didier Drogba, who became a Stamford Bridge icon after his move from Ligue 1.
According to reports from Fichajes, the teenager has already netted three goals in 17 Ligue 1 appearances, showcasing flashes of the power and presence that once made Drogba one of the most feared strikers in world football.
Drogba himself began his journey in France with Guingamp, before earning legendary status at Chelsea with 164 goals in all competitions and four Premier League titles.
The Blues, who have struggled to find a consistent heir to his throne, may see Meite as a long-term solution.
It is unclear if Chelsea will make a formal approach in January or wait until next summer.
