Chelsea are reportedly interested in signing French teenager of Ivorian descent, Djylian N’Guessan.

The 17-year-old AS Saint-Étienne talent caught the eye during France’s impressive run at the U20 World Cup in Chile, where he showcased his potential as one of the standout young attackers in the tournament. According to L’Équipe, N’Guessan’s performances have sparked interest from several top European clubs.

Currently playing in Ligue 2 with Saint-Étienne, N’Guessan has yet to feature this season but made eight Ligue 1 appearances last term. His technical ability and composure in front of goal have made him one of France’s most promising teenage prospects.

In addition to Chelsea, EFL Championship side Watford, along with Italian clubs Inter Milan and Udinese, are also reportedly in the race for his signature. Talks between his representatives and the interested clubs are said to have accelerated during the U20 World Cup.

Chelsea’s interest aligns with their broader strategy under the BlueCo ownership, which includes developing young talent through their partner club RC Strasbourg Alsace.
