Chelsea extend Pedro Neto’s contract to 2032 despite five years remaining

Chelsea have secured Pedro Neto’s long-term future by extending the Portugal international’s contract until 2032.

The 26-year-old signed the new agreement on Friday, despite still having five years remaining on his previous deal. The move underlines both the player’s commitment to the club and Chelsea’s desire to retain one of their key attacking options.

Neto joined Chelsea in 2024 from Wolverhampton Wanderers for approximately 60m euros. The club confirmed the contract extension, with the forward expressing his happiness at continuing his career at Stamford Bridge.

“This is a great moment,” Neto said in an official statement. “I feel at home here and I want to achieve more here.”

Neto has made 135 appearances for Chelsea across his two seasons with the club, scoring 21 goals and providing 19 assists. During that time, he has helped the team win the UEFA Conference League and the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup.

He has also featured regularly at the start of the current Premier League campaign under head coach Xabi Alonso. Neto has started two of Chelsea’s three league matches and has scored once.

Chelsea’s decision to extend his contract reflects the importance of Neto to the club’s plans. Since arriving at Stamford Bridge, he has become an established part of the team’s attacking structure, and the new agreement keeps him at Chelsea for the long term.
