Trevoh Chalobah has lifted the lid on the off-field habits that he believes have taken his game and body to a new level at Chelsea.
The defender explained that regular starts this season have helped him build rhythm, but the real difference comes from what he does away from Stamford Bridge and the training pitch. He spoke about adding smart, targeted sessions on top of team work to handle the intensity of the calendar without breaking down physically.
“I feel I’m in the best shape I’ve ever been because now I’m playing more games consistently, back to back. I can see that the work I’m doing off the pitch is really helping,” Chalobah said, linking his routine to the confidence seen in his muscle-flex celebration. For him, it is about balance rather than obsession.
He stressed that recovery is as important as effort, focusing on details such as sleep, nutrition and well-chosen extra drills instead of exhausting himself. “It’s not just beating myself to the ground… It’s everything – how you sleep, how you eat, what are the extras that you’re doing to get that marginal gain,” he added, outlining a holistic approach that underpins his current form.
