Chelsea are reportedly interested in a move to sign German defender of Sierra Leonean descent, Antonio Rudiger.
Information gathered from sources indicate that the English Premier League club has reached out to the defender’s camp to inquire about his possible signing.
Chelsea are said to be ready to negotiate should they receive positive news from the player’s camp.
Antonio Rudiger, 32, has enjoyed success at Real Madrid since he signed for the club from Chelsea in 2022. Ahead of the summer transfer window, it is reported that he is now open to a change of scenery.
Although he is a crucial player at Real Madrid, sources indicate that Rudiger has recently become more difficult to engage with, causing strain in key relationships.
Of particular note is a reported fallout with his brother and agent, Sahr Senesie, just before the Christmas holidays. Though the cause of the rift remains unclear, the disagreement is said to have escalated to the point where Rudiger threatened to sever ties altogether.
It is unclear of Rudiger will be open to a return to Chelsea but reports indicate that he is more likely to consider his Real Madrid future at the end of the season.
