Cheick Ismael Tioté is facing legal scrutiny in the United Kingdom, scheduled for a court appearance on July 5. The Ivorian midfielder for the Elephants is accused of fraud and traffic violations. The Newcastle player was apprehended on February 12 near the Magpies’ training center.
As reported by BBC Africa, Tioté, while awaiting the acquisition of a British driving license, is alleged to have used a counterfeit Belgian license. The 27-year-old Ivorian had his vehicle, a Chevrolet Camaro valued at approximately £75,000, confiscated at the time of his arrest. The upcoming court date will address the charges brought against him.
