Despite missing out on the championship title to their rival Fenerbahce, Galatasaray secured a consolation prize by winning the National Cup this Wednesday against Eskişehirspor.
The victory did not come easy, as the match was hard-fought until the final minutes when Dutchman Wesley Sneijder scored the decisive goal, resulting in a 1-0 win for Galatasaray.
This victory marks the 15th Turkish Cup trophy for Galatasaray, and it also adds to the accolades of their coach, Roberto Mancini, who has now won domestic cups with five different clubs across Italy, Manchester City, and Galatasaray.
Among the players celebrating this triumph are Cameroonian Aurélien Chedjou, who started the match, and Ivorian Emmanuel Eboue, who contributed as a substitute. However, Didier Drogba, also from Ivory Coast, is currently recovering from injury in Qatar.
