Charles Yaw Appiah: Ghanaian winger joins Dunav from APOEL Nicosia

Ghanaian winger Charles Yaw Appiah has joined Bulgarian side Dunav from APOEL Nicosia as the efbet Liga club moves to strengthen its attacking options ahead of the new campaign.

The 20-year-old right winger, who prefers to operate on the right flank cutting in on his left foot, arrives in Ruse after two years with Cypriot giants APOEL. The transfer is a completed move between the Cyprus League and Bulgarias top flight, with Appiah now registered as a Dunav player.

Born in Abetifi, Appiah has been listed at a market value of 100,000 and stands at 1.67m. He made his senior breakthrough with Cheetah FC in Ghana before earning a move to APOEL in July 2024, where he gained his first experience of European football.

Game time in Cyprus was limited, but he featured in both the league and domestic cup, making a handful of appearances and totalling under an hour of competitive action. Dunav will now offer him a new platform to compete for regular minutes at the highest level of Bulgarian football.

Appiah joined Dunav on 12 July 2026 and is available for selection as the club prepares for the upcoming efbet Liga season.
