Standard Liège End Pursuit of Dieumerci Ndongola After Rejected Offer

Standard Liège have officially withdrawn their interest in Congolese international Dieumerci Ndongola after Sporting Charleroi rejected their transfer offer, according to La Dernière Heure.

The 24-year-old winger, who impressed during the 2014–2015 season with Charleroi, had been on Standard’s radar throughout the summer. The Liège-based club saw him as a potential attacking reinforcement following his standout performances in the Belgian Pro League.

However, negotiations quickly stalled. Charleroi valued Ndongola at around €2 million, but Standard reportedly tabled an offer of just €400,000 — a figure representing roughly a third of the asking price. Unsurprisingly, the Zèbres considered the bid far below expectations and swiftly turned it down.

Standard’s sporting director Axel Lawarée confirmed the collapse of the deal.
“We did make an offer that Charleroi refused,” he told Belgian media. “We won’t go any further. He’s a player who interested us and who has developed well, but it ends there.”

With the transfer now off the table, Ndongola is expected to remain with Charleroi, where he continues to be a key figure in the squad. For Standard, the search for attacking reinforcements goes on as the transfer window nears its final weeks.
